More than 4,000 residents gathered at Lake Highlands High School for fun-filled games, performances and visits from firefighters and law enforcement at Dallas Council District #10’s “Chief on the Beat” Crime Prevention, Safety and Health Fair. Organizers say the April 27 event was by far the largest “Chief on the Beat” event this year. South Texas Dental joined other community leaders at the recent event, hosted at Lake Highlands High School, where representatives presented free toothbrushes and information on maintaining good oral health. Diabetes testing, eye exams and blood pressure checks also were conducted free of charge. The Dallas Police Department hosts “Chief on the Beat” events in Dallas-area Council districts throughout the school year. Representatives from South Texas Dental attend each Chief on the Beat event as part of its ongoing commitment to the community.
